Selma Ribica

Selma Ribica is a Fintech entrepreneur turned VC investor. An expert in building digital financial services in emerging markets, she was previously in charge of expansion and product innovation at M-Pesa. During her time, M-Pesa expanded to ten new markets in Africa and beyond. Selma built the M-Pesa remittance business from scratch and set the foundation for mobile money industry interoperability. More recently, she scaled and sold a Fintech business in London, serving underbanked migrants. Moreover, she has been investing in Fintech throughout Europe and Africa since 2016, and has built a high-performing portfolio to date, including names like Qonto, Expensya, Ilara Health, Bamboo, Dash, and THNDR. Now based out of Casablanca, Morocco, she serves on the board of Fintech businesses in the region, advising prominent venture capital investors in Africa.
